A truly immersive experience

Its Pumpkin Festival has also become a popular day out for famous faces, who have visited the farm with their families as the annual trip to the pumpkin fields has increasingly become a fixture of the UK’s seasonal calendar.

The increasingly elaborate displays have helped make the farm particularly popular on Instagram and TikTok, with visitors sharing images and videos from the pumpkin fields throughout the season.

And there’s something for the entire family to enjoy, with numerous other fun festival offerings, too.

More than pumpkin picking

This particular pumpkin festival offers far more than a traditional pumpkin patch.

Guests can spend an entire day exploring fields filled with more than 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds and picking the perfect one.

Over 100 different varieties spread across the Pick Your Own fields and entire festival, where you’ll also find live roaming musicians, street theatre, artisan shopping and a huge selection of freshly prepared seasonal food and drink in the vibrant Pumpkin Village.

“The Pumpkin Festival is so much more than just picking a pumpkin” says Sam Beare, co-owner of Tulleys Farm. “It’s an experience for all generations.”

Over 30 picturesque photo opportunities have been created throughout the award-winning festival, alongside giant pumpkin displays, photogenic gastronomic spots and elevated views as you take flight on the pumpkin farm’s 33-metre Observation Wheel overlooking the fields and the stunning, surrounding Sussex countryside.

New Pumpkin Valley

New for 2026, Pumpkin Valley is the largest single addition ever made to the festival, featuring a newly landscaped area, with streams, ponds, giant pumpkin sculptures plus a Pumpkin Farmhouse and Hobbit House surrounded by pumpkins and pretty autumn planting.

Nestled within the heart of the festival, guests can wander along winding paths dotted with wooden bridges leading across gentle streams and peaceful ponds.

Here, you’ll discover giant pumpkin sculptures, the charming Pumpkin Farmhouse and a picturesque Hobbit House, all surrounded by vibrant pumpkins and beautiful blooming chrysanthemums.

Designed as a place to explore, discover and create memories together, the Pumpkin Valley introduces an entirely new festival experience, inviting guests into a magical land where autumn comes to life.

“We have always believed the Pumpkin Festival should evolve every year,” explains Sam. “We are excited to introduce the Pumpkin Valley for 2026. Our vision was to create something truly unique; an area that pushes the boundaries and immerses guests in a brand-new world.”

“Pumpkin Valley is the biggest addition we have ever made to the festival,” adds Tulleys Farm co-owner, Stuart Beare. “We wanted to create an entirely new part of the event, rather than simply adding another display. A huge amount of work has gone into the landscaping, buildings, bridges, water and planting. It has been months in the making, and seeing families finally exploring it has made all that work worthwhile.”

Spooky cocktails

Time for a pitstop? Marvel at live roaming musicians as you munch on mouthwatering street food by the warming firepits, the scent of hot doughnuts also filling in the ambient air.

Step into the Americana-themed Pumpkin Bar for hot chocolate or indulge in spooky cocktails at The Boozy Cauldron, all while being entertained by live music and DJs offering vibrant festival vibes for a truly immersive experience.

Record-breaking numbers

Europe’s largest pumpkin festival opened to a record number of visitors last month, after growing from a traditional farm pumpkin patch into one of the UK’s biggest seasonal days out.

The event has grown rapidly in recent years, fuelled in part by social media, where photos and videos from its vast pumpkin displays have reached millions of people and helped turn the farm into a destination for visitors from across both Britain and overseas.

“Tulleys Pumpkin Festival is a highlight of the season for thousands of families,” Sam reveals. “It’s more than just pumpkins. It’s a place where people come together to make memories, take in the atmosphere and enjoy everything the season has to offer.”

Exploring the pumpkin expansion

The new Pumpkin Valley area took months to build and forms part of the continued expansion of an event which began with the simple tradition of families visiting the farm to choose a pumpkin.

“Seeing the Pumpkin Valley full of visitors for the first time on opening day was a really proud moment for everyone here, particularly with a record number of people coming through the gates!” says Stuart.

“When we first started growing pumpkins, we could never have imagined what the festival would eventually become. Pumpkin picking is still right at the heart of it, but it has grown into something families travel from all over the country to experience.”

And he says social media has played a huge part. “Every autumn, we see photographs and videos from Tulleys being shared around the world, and it is quite extraordinary to think that all of that starts here on our family farm in Sussex.”

From pumpkin patch to major autumn attraction

Despite its growth, Tulleys remains owned and operated by the Beare family, with the Pumpkin Festival forming part of the diversification of the original farm.

The fourth-generation family farm’s Pumpkin Festival now covers over 100 acres, with around 600,000 pumpkin seeds planted to produce the colossal crop required for the autumn season.

“There is something very simple at the heart of it,” Stuart explains. “Families come here, choose their pumpkins and spend time together.”

“What has changed is everything we have built around that tradition. For a lot of our visitors, coming to Tulleys has become something they do every autumn, and we never take that for granted. We have an incredible team who work for months to get the farm ready. Opening weekend is the moment everyone finally gets to see what they have created.”

Pooches, paws & pumpkins

While your four-legged friends are welcome to join you every day during the festival, one particular October date on the calendar sees a special day celebrating canine visitors.

Pooches, Paws & Pumpkins is the dedicated day for the dogs of Tulleys, with a best-dressed dog competition - featuring fancy-dressed four-legged friends - plus gourmet treats and activities designed especially for your pups.

From tiny Terriers in tutus to giant Great Dane superheroes, four-legged guests don creative costumes such as pumpkins, skeletons, witches and fairies, and take to the stage, making for a memorable Halloween hound show.

Bring the lead, grab a wheelbarrow and get set for a very wholesome day out in the pumpkin fields with your furry friends.

Plus, for pooches who love the spotlight, they can have their moment in front of the camera, with professional pup portrait opps capturing their best shots.

“Our dog day is always one of the most joyful dates on the Pumpkin Festival calendar,” Sam divulges. Seeing so many families – and their dogs – having fun together really sums up what the event is all about.”

Pumpkin Nights

As the sun sets, the experience continues with Pumpkin Nights, the festival transforming into a spectacular after-dark experience where guests can pick pumpkins beneath the stars, explore illuminated woodland trails and enjoy a lively line-up of on-stage music in an unforgettable evening atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the UK.

Known as Europe’s most viral pumpkin event, this unique after-dark experience invites visitors to wander through glowing pumpkin fields and immersive light displays, as the atmosphere transforms with a distinctly magical, after-dark twist.

Set within the UK’s No.1 Pumpkin Festival, creating a vibrant and atmospheric setting as the sun goes down, Tulleys Pumpkin Nights has become a social media phenomenon, drawing visitors from across the UK and beyond.

Pick pumpkins under the moonlit sky, explore the illuminated Woodland Walk, and soak up the atmospheric evening’s energy as you take in the sensational lights, indulge in fantastic food and drinks from the village and listen to live music, creating an extraordinary seasonal evening to remember.
