Europe’s most-viral pumpkin nights light up the UK’s night sky
Family night? Date night? Adventure night? Whatever your plans this autumn, there’s nothing quite like a pumpkin night!
Tulleys’ Pumpkin Fest totally transforms after dark, with more than 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds forming the backdrop to a huge, illuminated autumn experience.
Known as Europe’s most viral pumpkin event, this unique after-dark October event invites guests to wander through glowing pumpkin fields and enjoy live music and immersive light displays.
A social media phenomenon
Set within the UK’s No.1 Pumpkin Festival, Pumpkin Nights has become a social media phenomenon, drawing visitors from across the UK and beyond.
Combining immersive design, live entertainment and the natural beauty of the countryside, the event celebrates all things autumn with a distinctly magical twist.
The largest pumpkin festival in Europe’s season of Pumpkin Nights transforms over 100 acres of countryside with illuminated pumpkin displays, a glowing woodland walk, live music, street theatre, festival food, buzzing bars and dozens of installations designed to be experienced after sunset.
As darkness falls, the entire site undergoes a complete transformation, with thousands of lights illuminating the alfresco site, visitors wandering through lit-up pumpkin displays, an immersive woodland walk, featuring lighting installations, holograms and water effects, and more.
An unmissable seasonal spectacle
There’s something truly special about stepping into Tulleys’ glowing fields… It’s a celebration of the season that combines the beauty of the pumpkin fields with the fun atmosphere of a festival, seeing people from all over the UK come together under the stars to enjoy over 100 pumpkin varieties, the lights, music and incredible energy of a unique and spectacular experience.
“When darkness falls, you almost feel as though you are opening a completely different event!” explains Tulleys Farm owner, Stuart Beare.
Pumpkin Valley by night
And this year, Pumpkins Night is bigger, brighter and more breathtaking than ever before…
At the centre of the experience is the newly created Pumpkin Valley, the biggest single expansion in the history of Tulleys Pumpkin Festival.
The landscaped valley features streams, ponds, wooden bridges, winding pathways, giant pumpkin sculptures plus a Pumpkin Farmhouse.
Moonlit pumpkin picking, & woodland walk
Explore the enchanted Woodland Walk, brought to life through award-winning lighting, holograms and dazzling water displays, along with a touch of eerie magic for thrill-seekers.
Pick your perfect pumpkin under the moonlit sky, enjoy delicious street food in the Pumpkin Village and relax with a handcrafted cocktail on the balcony of the Boozy Cauldron overlooking the illuminated village, or a cold craft beer in the American-style bar.
New vintage carousel
Visitors can also ride the new Vintage Carousel, explore Pumpkin Village and soar 33 metres into the night sky on the Pumpkin Farm Observation Wheel, admiring the glowing fields below and the sensational Sussex skyline views.
With playful energy and surprises around every corner, roaming street characters bring the night to life with moments of laughter, surprise and interaction, ensuring no two visits are ever the same.
From pumpkin patch to night out
Feeling peckish? Seasonal street food, bars and coffee houses are spread across the site, so food lovers can feast on an array of street food favourites, from donuts and crumble to hot dogs, burgers and pizza.
And with two music stages hosting live music throughout the evening, this very special night out offers something for all.
The growth of Pumpkin Nights reflects how the traditional trip to a pumpkin patch has changed in Britain.
While pumpkin picking remains part of the experience, Tulleys says increasing numbers of visitors now arrive to spend several hours at the farm, with the evening event attracting families and couples, along with groups of friends.
“Pumpkin picking will always be at the heart of what we do, but the way people celebrate the season has completely changed,” says Stuart.
“For a lot of our visitors, it has become a tradition. They aren't necessarily coming just to pick a pumpkin - they are meeting friends, having dinner, listening to live music, taking photographs and spending the evening together.”
After-dark fun
The talented Tulleys team has watched that change happen over the years, and Pumpkin Nights has grown with it.
This is the first year the farm has illuminated Pumpkin Valley at night. “Our challenge was to create something that feels just as spectacular after dark as it does during the day,” Stuart explains.
”You can spend months seeing these areas being built and planted during daylight, but there is a moment when all the lights come on and suddenly the entire farm changes. Seeing it illuminated for the first time was quite a moment for us.”
“When we started growing pumpkins, families came to the farm to choose one to take home. We could never have imagined that, years later, we would be lighting more than 100 acres and welcoming people who want to spend their entire evening here!”
