Em Cakes is a boutique West Hampstead bakery founded by Bella Do, a former crude oil trader who transformed her passion for baking into a thriving business in 2019. What began as an online venture quickly captured the hearts of cake lovers across London, leading to the opening of a welcoming cake store and bakery café in 2021. Specialising in elegant buttercream occasion and wedding cakes, Em Cakes is known for its refined designs, premium ingredients, and meticulous attention to detail. Every cake is handcrafted in small batches using high-quality ingredients such as Scottish butter and free-range eggs, with no artificial preservatives or additives — ensuring each creation is as honest and delicious as it is beautiful. Bella’s philosophy centres on creating “honest cakes” — timeless, handmade bakes that celebrate life’s special moments. From weddings and birthdays to corporate events and milestone celebrations, Em Cakes combines creativity, authenticity, and craftsmanship to produce cakes that are both visually stunning and memorable in flavour. The name “Em” comes from the Vietnamese word used as a warm and affectionate way to address younger siblings or someone dear — reflecting the bakery’s heartfelt approach to baking and its welcoming community spirit.
