Award-Nominated Comedian & Stand-Up Star
Aaron Simmonds is one of the most distinctive and in-demand comedians on the UK circuit. Born with cerebral palsy, Aaron has spent 36 years failing to stand up — but thankfully he’s exceptionally good at comedy. With a style that is sharp, warm and brilliantly observed, Aaron’s material draws on his disability without ever being defined by it. The result is a fresh, fearless and highly original voice that has made him a favourite with audiences across clubs, festivals, theatres and corporate events alike. Aaron has appeared on QI (BBC Two), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), The Russell Howard Hour (Sky), Undeniable (Comedy Central) and Guessable (Comedy Central), and has also been heard on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Scotland. His critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows Disabled Coconut (2019) and Hot Wheels (2022) established him as a major comedic talent. In 2019, he was an Amused Moose Comedy Award Best Show finalist and was nominated for Best Comedy Show at the Broadway World UK Edinburgh Fringe Awards. In 2023, Aaron took on his biggest challenge yet: performing stand-up while standing up. His show Baby Steps received rave reviews and sold-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as a longlisting for the ISH Edinburgh Best Comedy Show Award. As The Courier put it: “Not only does Simmonds stand up for the entire hour of his show, titled Baby Steps, he keeps his audience glued to their seats.” ★★★★
Away from the stage, Aaron is also a hugely popular choice for the corporate circuit, where he has hosted and performed at a wide range of events, earning glowing feedback for his charisma, professionalism and ability to connect with any audience.
