A former Sergeant in the Royal Marine Commandos, he first honed his skills as a combat cameraman, documenting breaking news stories in some of the world’s most volatile and hostile environments. This foundation instilled in him a rare blend of discipline, resilience and instinct—qualities that continue to define his work behind the camera today.

Following his military service, Steve established himself as a respected news cameraman, working extensively with Thomson Reuters and BBC National News. His ability to capture stories with clarity, precision and emotional impact has earned him recognition and trust across both national and international broadcasting networks.

Today, through Steve Hignett Video Productions Ltd, he delivers a wide spectrum of professional video content, covering news, sport, showbiz, music, promotional films and corporate productions. Fully equipped with three complete television camera rigs and state-of-the-art Final Cut Pro X editing suites, Steve ensures that every project not only meets broadcast-ready standards, but is also visually engaging and creatively distinctive.
